Coaching Information Page

I've Signed Up to Be a Coach, Now What?

First of all, thank you! All of you that have volunteered your time to coach a team, make our season possible! We are so grateful for you all!

We understand it can be confusing and even frustrating not hearing back from us about more information regarding the season. We are busy organizing this season and assigning all of you to your teams!

We will be contacting you as soon as we can (via email) with information regarding our equipment handout and info night! If you are unable to make this night, please reach out to registrar@ingersollsoccerclub.com so that we can arrange another time with you!

This season we will be trying to support our coaches better by providing supports, drills, ideas, and more. We heard your recommendations last year and are trying something a little different this year! Once you are assigned your team and age group, please come back to this page and take a look through the drills I have linked below! There are also videos to help you visualize the instructions better.

Here's to a great season ahead of us!

U5 Long Term Player Development | 'Active Start'

Dear Coach,

The Ingersoll SC would like to thank-you for your gift of coaching! The players success developing into the soccer player and individual they desire is based on their COACH and PARENT experience at this Active Start stage. It's especially important at these early developmental stages that we nuture the individual and make their soccer experience a positive one, so that they learn to love the game!

Below are some supporting guidelines to look at for all involved at this age group. These are Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) principles our Soccer Club follows and supports. We provide educational sessions for Coaches/Parents/Referees of the children playing soccer that are involved in Long Term Player Development (LTPD). Click the Active Start document for up to date session plans from the OSA website. It is essential for our organization to educate our membership using soccer in the appropriate developmental stages, and not play the game of soccer adults play when these children are still developing. Please take a look at the resources provided...

We encourage the player/parent experience with the coaches at this stage.

The Active Start Brochure, Curriculum, Schedule, House League Rules, Responsibility of the Coach, LTPD game sheet and Snack schedule for all are in the Active Start Handouts of this page.

Enjoy your Soccer experience, thanks again!
